Different Volunteer records figures

If I run report on the total number of volunteers on v-base cloud I get a figure which is 11 less than if I do a search for the total number of volunteers. I think we may have had this problem before but I have identified that there are 11 volunteer records that appear twice in the search however they seem to be duplicates of the same record.
