Mass Mailings to Volunteers about upcoming event

I think VBC has the facility to send emails like this.  However I would prefer to extract a list of volunteers with email addresses in a csv file and then use that in a bulk email service (like MailChimp)

Hi - Yes, this can and probably should be done in VBC.

From our stats we can see that Volunteering Barnsley do this quite often and we would encourage others to do the same. The reasons are that all communication history is in one place and you can personalise correspondence with their contact details. You could also send out requests to fill in forms etc. One of the key aspects is also the unsbscribe functionality to ensure your not continuing to email people who've asked to be taken off. These things are all handled by VBC automatically. We'd like to put the caveat that as this becomes easier you do need to be careful about all users emailing your contact list too often so theres a layer of management that needs to be introduced.

You can create groups of contacts to email using the "Groups" functionality.

Using these groups you can then email.

Hi,

I am aware this can be set up (sending an email to a Mass Group of people) by creating A Group but I can't see how to set up a New Group. When I go to Create New Mailing, Select Group: how do I add a new group of people I want to send one email to.

I have tried finding this information on the User manual but it seems no information is showing.
