Currently we are able to delete opps on do it but not on VBC. consequently if you delete an opp on Do it the title remains in VBC and links to nothing.This is very confusing when looking at an organisation and trying to see what opps they have.
I feel that if we are using VBC then we should do all our editing, uploading etc via VBC and not directly on do it as we know the interface that way is instant and so our database matches do it. We know that the interface backwards is not instant and not all embracing so I prefer not to do anything directly on do it.
Some opportunities can just be made draft in case they are required to be made live again but there is often the need to delete an opp permanently to prevent the database being cluttered up by opps that will never be required again.
Can the facility to delete an opp be put in to VBC please? And is there a way to rid our existing databases of titles of non existent opportunities?
This is a question we would also like to pose following our Newcastle training session on the 23rd November 2015. We would like to know if we can delete opportunities and how, and also ask the same question about organisations and volunteers.
you can already delete organisations and volunteers .in VBC (but you can't on do it)
go to view on vol or org and see third black button from left, marked "delete contact" with dustbin icon. (Whole organisations are referred to as a contact!)
with opps it's the other way round. you can't delete an opp on VBC but you can delete an opp on do it but then it leaves you with an empty title in VBC which is most annoying.
There is definitely a need to be able to delete opps on VBC as mine is already cluttered with opportunities that I will never need again and just lead to confusion
How about making them inactive rather/as well as than delete as sometimes you need to reactivate an opportunity ie seasonal roles? That saves you having to retype the info back in and should filter it out of live searches and reporting whilst marked not active?
Please could we have a delete button for opportunities so that we can get rid of any that we know have ended and will not be going back on. For instance we have 32 opportunities regsitered for Lancashire County Council, but only 11 of them are live and because of cuts in their services, we know the other opps won't be going back on.

We are happy to annonce that Opportunities can be deleted from V-Base Cloud now, only if they have already been deleted in do-it. When you view an opportunity which has been deleted on do-it, a pop up window will appear, giving the option to delete the oppportunity from V-Base Cloud. Please double check that the opportunity has been deleted in Do-it before deleting it from V-Base Cloud.
