Whirring Circle

Whirring Circle

Thought I would post this on here as well as the do-it forum as I am so fed up. The whirring circle has disappeared from do-it as you probably have seen and I feel this is a huge issue. Whilst I agree for us there may be more pressing issues than a whirring circle, that is not the case for volunteers. We have had no do-it applications for the past two days so I went on do-it as a volunteer. Without any timer indication you would definitely think the site is broken and would give up before finding any search results. Currently the page takes about 30 seconds to load which is far too long for people to wait without an indicator that it is working. Lorna.

I agree Lorna, extremely frustrating and with the other issues with opps on VBC it is becoming even more frustrating. You currently have no idea if your page request on Do-It is loading and the temptation is to keep clicking! I'm sure this doesn't help. What is going on??

I absolutely agree.  It's really standard practice in application design to have processing indicators.  I know they said that they removed the indicator from Do-it because it was slowing down the page even more.  But it is unforgivable to remove indication altogether.

i also went on as a volunteer yesterday, and the impression is clearly that the site is broken.

The new CTO has promised to be more accessible and reactive.  Let's hope we do indeed get some action.

i feel that one on the real problems with all this is that they have no user community meetings.  Youthnet had an active group coming together regularly to discuss issues.

Old Do-it/V-base were far from ideal, but they were a lot better that what we have at the moment!

With ivo developing the application without having a real understanding of the VC brokerage process is a nightmare.
